We are a friendly dog training club with a training field on the Fetternear Estate near Kemnay. Our fun shows and guest trainer events are held at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre between Westhill and Peterculter.
All the training we offer is based on a force and fear free approach using positive methods.
We offer training for all levels of agility, and run regular beginners blocks which focus on foundation work and developing a working relationship between you and your dog.
We host a Winter Fun Show series with trophies for the best G1-3 and G4-7 over the Winter.
See our events page for more info.
In 2017 we started running our Life Skills classes. These classes are for owners who want to develop their relationship, build understanding and get help and advice on any day to day issues. Any age and all breed of dogs welcome. This class is a great prelude to our beginner’s Agility block or for those not yet confident at working in a group with their dog.

I, along with my sister Laura, founded Devana Dogs in 2005. Devana Dogs started off as a very small club with a handful of members and we have grown from strength to strength over the years, helping many students with their dogs.
Being primarily an agility club for 12 years we decided in 2017 to try Life Skills classes, along with a couple of specialised classes, and these are proving very popular. What I love about dog training is helping students achieve great results.
I teach our foundation classes (life skills and agility) as well as running a variety of workshops and individual 1-2-1s. The Club is very lucky to have a great team of trainers (Mhairi, Carrie and Laura) who thrive in helping students too. I own 6 dogs (4 collies and 2 working cocker spaniels), each have brought their own little challenges but are great dogs with quirky little characters.
I am looking forward to competing more with my spaniels Joy and Envy over the next coming year.

As Pauline said above, we started the club together in 2005 with the aim of passing along our knowledge and love for the sport. I have competed up to Grade 7, Champ and also at World level. Over the last 13 years I and the sport has changed, Agility is now more popular than ever, I now also have a Family of 3 girls and took a step back from the club while they are still quite young. I am now slowly finding my feet again, helping out at a few of the training sessions and starting to compete again.
Carrie
Trainer
I have been a trainer with Devana Dogs since January 2018, and have trained with Devana Dogs since 2014. I have one rescue dog at present, who I adopted at 11 months of age. He has been a challenge but I have learned a lot. It is through him that I had to up my game, learn a lot, and become a better trainer.
I have studied with COAPE (Centre of Applied Pet Ethology) and APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers).
I am also a volunteer with Springer Rescue Scotland, having fostered rescue dogs in the past, and have been involved in the surrender and re-homing of a number of dogs in the area. I love helping people achieve their goals with their dogs, and overcoming challenges their dog may throw at them! No two dogs, or people, are the same, and I teach in a flexible way so that everyone can progress.
I currently run the life skills, puppies and spaniels classes with Pauline, and I do the occasional workshop for clients looking to focus on particular topics as demand arises. I look forward to meeting you and your four legged best friend.

Mhairi
Trainer
I joined Devana Dogs in November 2012 with my Border Collie Lizzy, I was soon hooked and with the help of Laura and Pauline I started competing in April 2014, Lizzy and I are currnetly in Grade 6, my next Border Collie Lexi stopped competing shortly after starting due to a shoulder problem, she is my demo dog and sometimes replacement dog for students. My youngest dog Muck did not have the best start in life which he has overcome and has just started to compete.
Muck led me to join Absolute Dogs training academy where Ilearned alot about how dogs think and learn, the games I learned here transfer to Agility and I have since passed their Pro Trainer Assessment.
I started training Agility Classes for Devana in April 2018 and am growing in confidence and skills all the time. I continue to attend training for myself with other agility trainers most recently Lukas Aigner and Pamela Keith.
Bill
Treasurer
I joined the club to help my daughters while the club found it's feet and from there I was voted on as treasurer. I was the handyman for any work that was required to be done, including building the shed for housing the lawnmower at the old field. I still do alot of the maintenence for the club and you can see me at all the fun shows too. I mainly look after the money and keep track of the members.
